Tommyco Inc. (“Tommyco,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) manufactures protective knee pads and related safety gear from our facility in Delta, British Columbia, Canada. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect when you visit kneepads.com (the “Site”) or purchase our products — whether directly from us, or through Amazon.ca, Amazon.com, or any other authorized third-party sellers — and how we use, share, and protect that information.
This policy is intended to comply with Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and, where applicable, British Columbia’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).
1. Who We Are
Tommyco Inc. is a Canadian manufacturer with over 40 years of operating history, based in Delta, BC. We sell through our own website (kneepads.com, on WordPress), through wholesale/B2B partners, and through third-party marketplaces including Amazon and Walmart.ca.
2. Information We Collect
Information you give us directly:
- Name, shipping and billing address, email address, and phone number
- Payment details (processed by our third-party payment provider — see Section 6)
- Account information, if you create one (username, email, password)
- Information you provide when contacting customer support, submitting a warranty claim, or subscribing to our newsletter
Information collected automatically:
- Browser type, device information, IP address, and general location (city/region level)
- Pages visited, time on site, referring pages, and other browsing behaviour, collected via Google Analytics (GA4) and similar tools
- Cookie and similar tracking data (see Section 8)
Information from third-party marketplaces: If you purchase through Amazon or Walmart.ca, that marketplace collects your information under its own privacy policy and shares only the information necessary for us to fulfill your order (e.g., shipping name and address, order details). We do not receive your marketplace payment details.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Process and fulfill your orders and communicate with you about them
- Provide customer support and respond to warranty or product inquiries
- Send order confirmations, shipping updates, and (with your consent) promotional emails or newsletters
- Analyze Site traffic and usage to improve our products, content, and user experience
- Detect and prevent fraud, and comply with legal or regulatory obligations
- Maintain invoice and transaction records as required for accounting and tax purposes (retained for up to 7 years)
We do not use your personal information for any purpose incompatible with the reasons it was collected without first obtaining your consent, unless required or permitted by law.
4. Marketing Communications
If you sign up for our newsletter or opt in at checkout, we may send you emails about new products, promotions, and company updates. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any marketing email, or by contacting support@kneepads.com. Unsubscribing does not affect transactional messages related to an order you’ve placed.
We do not currently send SMS/text marketing. If this changes, we will update this policy and obtain your express consent before enrolling you in text communications.
5. Consent
By providing personal information to complete a purchase, request support, or otherwise interact with the Site, you consent to our collecting and using it for the purposes described in this policy. Where we seek your information for a secondary purpose, such as marketing, we will ask for your express consent or give you a clear way to decline.
You may withdraw your consent at any time, subject to legal or contractual restrictions, by contacting us at support@kneepads.com. Withdrawing consent may affect our ability to fulfill an active order or provide certain services.
6. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. We share information only as needed to operate our business:
- WordPress— our e-commerce platform host. See privacy policy: https://www.wordpress.com/legal/privacy
- Payment processors — to securely process transactions. Payment data is encrypted and handled in accordance with PCI-DSS standards.
- Shipping carriers — to deliver your order, we share your name and shipping address.
- Amazon and Walmart — when you order through these marketplaces, your order and shipping data is shared with us by the marketplace under its own privacy terms.
- Analytics providers — Google Analytics (GA4) and Google Ads, to help us understand Site usage and measure marketing performance.
- Service providers — such as email/newsletter platforms and customer support tools, bound by confidentiality and data protection obligations to us.
- As required by law — for example, in response to a valid legal request, or to protect our rights, property, or safety.
Some of our service providers may process or store data outside Canada, including in the United States. Where this occurs, your information may become subject to the laws of that jurisdiction, including lawful access requests by foreign authorities.
7. Third-Party Links
Our Site may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites and encourage you to review their privacy policies before providing any personal information.
8. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the Site and understand how it’s used, including:
- Essential cookies — required for core Site functionality, such as maintaining your shopping cart

We retain personal information only as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy, including order fulfillment, customer support, legal compliance, and accounting requirements (invoice records are retained for up to 7 years). When information is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to securely delete or anonymize it.

The Site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of majority in their province or territory of residence without the consent of a parent or legal guardian.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, including to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. Changes take effect once posted to this page. Material changes will be noted here or communicated to you directly where appropriate. Your continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
